SARAJEVO, Augasiangames2018bola. 10 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 106,000 tourists visited Sarajevo Canton in July this year, marking a 23 percent increase in arrivals over July 2023, according to the latest data released by the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
China ranked fifth among the top sources of tourists in Sarajevo Canton, following Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Croatia, and Serbia.
In the January-July period, tourist arrivals in Sarajevo increased by 29 percent over the same period last year, according to the data released on Friday.
"During the summer, Sarajevo has become an extremely popular tourist destination. We anticipate that during the Sarajevo Film Festival in August we will set new records for visits and overnight stays," said Haris Fazlagic, President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
He added that Sarajevo expects to see record-high tourist arrivals and overnight stays this year.■
